Who is she?

Hello, I’m Natalie Rae

I’m a fitness trainer and health coach in my 30’s living in the PNW. I enjoy morning walks, late night raves and vanilla ice cream. I believe that “typically bad choices” and “ a healthy lifestyle” CAN and DO exist simultaneously. Everyone has their own level of moderation and balance that is completely unique and personal.

Working out does not have to be daunting and mysterious. I am passionate about helping others become more confident in themselves, capable in their abilities, and comfortable in their bodies all while nourishing and growing a safe community.

As a girl, growing up, I was told I have to kill myself with cardio to lose weight. THIS IS NOT TRUE.

I have found that the general consensus of what being healthy and what healthy “looks like” to be misleading or incomplete. For every person, healthy is subjective and is determined by your goals and consistent focus.

Here’s a lil backstory on me::

As a freshman, I made the Girls varsity soccer team. The seniors on the team took me under their wing and taught me everything I know about partying. I was a jock, my interest in fitness and training started while taking weightlifting as an elective. The only female students taking weightlifting were athletes and cheerleaders.

️ I was on a small farm on Maui during my 21st birthday. Permaculture caught my attention and I decided to move to Colorado and ended up working on a farm in the Rocky Mountains where I spent the better part of a decade. As a young adult starting life, a gym membership was a luxury I could not afford. In lieu of a paid membership, I learned how to mountain bike, mountain climb and snowboard by following my boyfriends around. Then I learned backpacking, rafting and sailing by following my girlfriends around. I was fortunate enough to have friends that were willing to teach me new skills and ways to be active that worked for me and my finances.

Then one day in my late 20s, mortality karate kicked me in the face. I realized, (I’M) going to get old, not just everyone else. My body started to hurt. This left me wanting to take better care of myself as I cometed past my prime. I started going on walks, and figuring out the basics of weight training all over again.

All the while, my dark lore has been accumilating over the years. Character building through trials, crisis and tragedy. While we have to take care of our bodies, we have to take care of our lives. It’s a process that we are always adjusting as life and circumstances make goal and progress reviews necessary.
